Fajita Seasoning
Here's a simple and delicious fajita seasoning recipe that you can use to add flavor to your dishes:
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Mexican oregano, crushed between fingertips
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh-cracked black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spiciness)
Instructions:
To make the seasoning:
In a small bowl, combine all the spices and herbs: chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Mexican oregano, coriander, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
Taste the seasoning and adjust the salt and cayenne pepper according to your preference for saltiness and spiciness.
Store the fajita seasoning in an airtight container in a cool, dry place until you're ready to use it.
To use the seasoning:
- Coat your choice of protein (chicken, beef, shrimp, or vegetables) with a bit of oil.
- Sprinkle the fajita seasoning over the protein and toss to coat both sides evenly.
- Cook the seasoned protein in a hot skillet or grill until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Serve the fajita-seasoned protein in tortillas with your favorite toppings such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese.
