No-cook Pizzeria Style Sauce

Ciao bella! Get ready for a flavor fiesta because I've got a recipe that'll make your taste buds do the happy dance. Say arrivederci to cooking because we're whipping up a pizzeria-style sauce that's as easy as stealing a pizza your heart! We're talking San Marzano crushed tomatoes – the VIPs of the tomato world – transforming into a saucy sensation that even Nonni would give two thumbs up. Grab those ingredients, and let's begin sauce-making magic!

Ingredients

  • 1 can San Marzano crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp Kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp fresh-cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Extra-virgin olive oil
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (if desired)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add the San Marzano crushed tomatoes, minced garlic, extra virgin olive oil, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  2. Mix everything together with a spoon until well combined.
  3. That's it! You've made a delicious no-cook pizzeria-style sauce that Nonni would love.

Now, let me give you a few pro tips to make this sauce extra special:

  • Use the best quality San Marzano crushed tomatoes you can find. They're the gold standard for pizza sauce and will give your sauce that authentic Italian flavor.
  • Don't be afraid to adjust the seasoning to your taste. Nonni always said,
"Cucinare è amore" (Cooking is love).
  • Let the sauce sit for a few hours before using it. This will allow the flavors to meld together and develop a deeper, richer taste.
  • If you want a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender to puree the sauce.
